Katie Heselwood
SLP - CCC
Katie Heselwood (they/them) was born and grew up 30 minutes from Glacier National Park in Montana. Katie graduated with their Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Montana (UM) in May 2020. They are certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed to practice in the state of Washington.
Prior to returning for a post-baccalaureate program and their Master’s degree, Katie earned a Bachelor’s in English Literature from UM. This degree facilitated their becoming a technical writer in government contracting. Their “real world” experience, however, also motivated Katie’s return to academia in pursuit of a more dynamic career. That chase led them to Washington state, where they worked with children in school settings and half of their caseload included students with high support needs. In these classrooms, Katie honed their creativity and flexibility skills to meet students where they were while also progressing on goals.
In their off-hours, Katie enjoys spending time with their two cats, Reggie and Cass, writing short stories and books, as well as attending fan-conventions including San Diego Comic-Con.
