Posture alignment therapy is designed to address issues related to poor posture and body alignment, which can lead to pain, discomfort, and functional limitations. The therapy begins with a thorough assessment by an occupational therapist (OT) to identify specific postural imbalances and areas of weakness or tightness.

During therapy sessions, the OT uses a combination of exercises and techniques to correct posture and improve alignment. This may include strengthening exercises for the core and back muscles, stretching routines to increase flexibility, and training in proper body mechanics and ergonomics. The OT provides guidance on maintaining correct posture during various activities, such as sitting, standing, and lifting.

Additionally, the therapy may involve the use of supportive devices, such as posture braces or ergonomic furniture, to facilitate proper alignment. The OT also educates individuals on lifestyle modifications and habits that support good posture, such as regular breaks from sitting and the proper setup of workstations.

The goal of posture alignment therapy is to achieve a balanced and neutral body posture, reducing the strain on muscles and joints, preventing future injuries, and enhancing overall physical well-being. Regular monitoring and adjustments to the therapy plan ensure continued progress and adaptation to the individual's evolving needs.
